Just time for another update again!
Well quite a bit has happened during the last time that we wrote. First of all the damage that the elephants did was unbelievable. There are absolutely no more plants that we planted in our garden left. Our aloe who was about 25 years old was broken off completely, but thank goodness they stayed away from our water pump. That would have been an even more expensive thing to fix…

Anyway enough about the elephants. Since we were very busy with the construction of bungalows 3 and 4 we can now finally say that the all have been completed, just the way that we wanted them to be. So that is a good thing. Of course we are still covered in paint due to the fact that all these rooms need about 4 layers of new paint. The doors still need to be revarnished, the mozzie nets are ordered from Holland and appearently have arrived. The other mozzie proof sliding door need to be fixed still. We need to get mesh wire in for that as well as the mozzie nets. Than that part should be sorted. The deck of the pool is almost ready. Now it is just a matter of getting the wood (about 10 new beams) organized and then I can reassemble everything again. At least it should last us then about another year or 2 so we can then replace them all for the nice tiles.

The old swimming pool paint is completely off right now and the new paint has come in. Now it is just a matter of fixing up the cracks at the surface, then put new tiles on top. Empty and clean out the pool thoroughly and then repaint the pool again. Another 4 layers of paint.

Then we must make the cupboards for the rooms 1 to 4, since we decided to make them ourselves in order to save some extra money. The chairs will need to be striped completely and must get another paint coat. The minibar need to be installed and all the bathroom utensils and curtain holders must than be attached.

Of course we still have some rubble laying right outside the main house. That must be gone before our first guests will arrive. I think it is about a truck load or 2. Of course we don’t have any air conditioning yet since we had to take them off the walls. They do need to be refilled with gas and then reinstalled to the wall. As you can see there is still so much to do in such a little time. Our first guest will arrive within a month time. I really don’t know how we should be able to accomplish it. I guess we just have to work our butts off then!!!

After all that this is done, we must redecorate the rooms. Another big job but I think that Kim will be marvellous in doing that. So as you can imagine, there is still so much to do that I do not know anymore where to start. It sometimes feels like a job without an end. But I am pretty sure that one day we can all laugh about it when drinking a nice black label beer while looking over our beautiful property and then I can finally say to Kim: Kim, I know that we did a wonderful job!

    Roel:

    hallo liefjes,

Actief sinds 21 Dec. 2006
